Drug testing may be conducted. By joining this competition, lifters agree to drug testing if selected. Evading or refusing to be tested is equivalent to a positive drug test result. Any person currently serving a drug-related suspension in ANY sport is automatically prohibited from joining PAP events.

The test may be done out-of-competition (before or after the competition) or on competition days. All lifters MUST be ready to stay for the test if selected. Otherwise, this will be considered evading a test.

Penalties for Positive Drug Test Results:

  • 1st offense – Up to 4-years suspension, P50,000 fine plus the return of trophies/medals
  • 2nd offense – Lifetime suspension, P50,000 fine plus the return of trophies/medals

PAP will implement an IPF rule that states that a positive test result will penalize the lifter by losing all records since the current weight classes were implemented.

Unless the fine is paid, the nominated teammates of a lifter who fails a doping test will be prohibited from participating in PAP events until the fine is paid.

The PAP will enforce an Equipment/Costume Check before Weigh-Ins as specified in the IPF Rulebook:

  • Lifters will be required to wear a competition singlet which is the bare minimum for anyone competing. Developmental lifters are exempted from the singlet suit rule.
  • The use of supportive Bench Shirts, Suits, and Wraps is NOT allowed in this competition.
  • T-shirts/singlets may not have any prominent prints except for the team & lifter names. IPF-approved logos are acceptable. “Sponsor’s Logos”, may be worn only on t-shirts, shoes, or socks, where the logo or emblem is printed or embroidered and is no more than 5 cm x 2 cm in size. If the sponsor logo exceeds the specified size in the IPF rulebook, the shirt, suit, and wraps will be inspected by the Technical Committee which will make the final decision to allow it for use.
  • Philippine Team members are required to use only IPF-approved attire/brands.
